Barcelona is a beautiful city.....
Our vacation this year started off with two days in Barcelona, Spain after an 8 and a half hour plane ride across the pond.
Besides the little cars, they actually have a "Smart" car that is about 4 feet by 4 feet and you can park it either way and two in a parking space. But there are motor bikes everywhere, which are quiet and come around the corner and scare the life out of you as you cross the street.....
Now Palma in Mallorca is also quiet, but there is no smog.....
I rode the train up to Soller to find some hand painted tiles of the wine country there, once you arrive by train, you transfer over to a tolley. It is really a slow and gentle way to tour the country.
We went to Son Amar again for the dinner show.....and again it was just great. You can visit their website at http://www.sonamar.com.
Elvis sang Love Me Tender to the girls and they melted into the floor.
Friends from all over the world joined us at Son Amar....from Germany and England to the Maldives......just a great evening.
Meanwhile back at the Lindner Hotel, you had to compete with the ducks to get a spot in the pool. It was soooooo funny because everyday for lunch we had french fries and pizza with Cola Light (Diet Coke). One of the servers had worked in St. Louis for 4 months and knew that Americans loved salt on the their fries.....normally you just get fries.
Now I loved dessert....I mean I really love dessert...anyone that knows me knows I love dessert and so did Michael at Di Benedetto....he made a simple dessert, fresh strawberries in some wine sauce, (not related to the secret sauce) and topped it off with two kinds of sorbet.
If that wasn't enough, he also had them make up a fresh peach thingie soaked in another wine sauce topped with more sorbet.......now this one was the best ever...so good that I had to......
Order another one.....good figure!!!!!
The roads are in good shape....just a little narrow and all roads leads back to Palma......
