Who would have thought George would say this.....

I truly believe that George Carlin is an extremely insightful man and has always tried to open people's minds with his comedy, his wife had recently died when he sat down and wrote this.

A Message by George Carlin: The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology canbring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most o f all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares

A reason to give thanks.........if you need one.

As we sit around our warm living room, watching football and enjoying our family time, shopping and eating (like most of us need any more food) taking naps and looking for boxes of Christmas decorations this weekend......it is also a time to think about what we can be thankful for this year.

My youngest daughter overcoming her medical problems, my wife is winning her battle with breast cancer are at the top of list for us and of course, the rest of the tribe is safe and sound. But there are those who will be having their Thanksgiving dinner away from their families.......and for that is also give THANKS.......

BE SAFE.......

Daytrading Educational Workshop....May 31, to June 2, 2008

So here we go again.....another educational workshop.....another day of live trading.....another fun filled weekend....May 31 to June 2, 2008...

ATTENTION....ATTENTION....ATTENTION
RED ALERT....RED ALERT....REALERT...

A 3 DAY EDUCATIONAL TRADING WORKSHOP IN THE HILLS OF TENNESSEE complete with a day of "live" trading!!!!!!!!
MAY 31st to the JUNE 2nd.......Ya'll Come Now...HEAR!!!!!!!

DETAILS.........

FRIDAY May 30th
A meet and greet at "The Brewery" on the Parkway in Gatlinburg starting at 8:00pm just ask for me.......
Here is the address but you can ask any desk clerk for directions to the Smoky Mountain Brewery: 865-436-4200 1004 Parkway # 501 Gatlinburg, TN.

SATURDAY May 31st
7:45am Breakfast is served at the Pancake Pantry starting a 7:45am, you can't come to Gatlinburg without enjoying some East Tennessee pancakes.......it's located at Pancake Pantry 628 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-4724 again any desk clerk can give you directions.....this will end at 8:45am so we can get to the house for the workshop......

9:30am Money Management and we will start out with what I believe is the most important part of any workshop...and that is money management. But this part is also about having problems, fears, depression and so on. Getting out of a slump and how. About believing in yourself and not in some market guru. And how to design a money management system for "your" trading style and then how to monitor it for the best overall results.....there will be a new twist this time around…..:)

11:30am The "first bar trade" and all the details fit to print.....which ones to avoid, which ones to take and how to manage it......also the three bar reversal and how to manage that one......rules rules and all the rules....along with questions and answers....

12:00...High Noon LUNCH...... Lunch will be from McAllister's Deli....I personally don't like to go to workshop and seminars and the food is something you can't spell or pronounce. So we will have all the fixins to make a great sandwich....some potato salad or cole slaw, a nice garden salad and mixed fruit and a dessert for those who didn't eat salad.....ROTFL.........if you have any special needs please let us know so my daughters will be able to have it for you........

1:00pm... Natural Rhythm... I believe there is a natural order to the market, Fibonacci levels and where they come from and how to use them to find a nice safe low risk...or defined risk I guess would be better trade. One of the people I follow and has given me my edge is Carolyn. You can and should study her work at http://www.fibonacciqueen.com/ and also study the site at http://www.mjbraun.net/ which is Mark's. I am been a student of Robert Krausz for a long time and as part of being his student was being involved in Gann's work with Fibonacci levels. Carolyn started her service about 6 years ago or so and I have been with her ever since, there is a reason.......so we will work thru all the levels to find the ones that matter......but study these site if you haven't already. Mark was a student at one time of Carolyn and since gone out on his own, his work is also solid with no smoke and mirrors.....This section is the first of three parts that will get us to a trading plan by Sunday night and ready to trade live on Monday......

3:30pm...Defining a trend using indicators..... this part of the workshop should be the most interesting as we start to build a trading plan. How many indicators do you need, which ones, what time frame is best and on and on. So, this week I will be snapping charts as the week unfolds and these charts will be used for the workshop, no using charts from 3 years ago that worked perfectly. But rather charts from the unknown at this point in time. It would be a good idea then, as the week unfolds to take notes about problems you are having so we can talk about them since we will be working off the same page.....that is the 9 minute, 3 minute and the 144 tick charts of the ER. But we will define a trend and then define a pullback in the direction of the trend and then even go so far as to define a COUNTER TREND SETUP and when it's safe to actually take that one......

I expect this to go into Sunday also.......since we will be ending up for the day around 5:00pm....

BREAKS: Anyone that knows me knows I could talk about trading long after the cows come home, so we will take breaks when I see that more then 4 people are either praying or taking a nap....about 10-15 minutes so we can all walk around and take a potty break.

6:00pm....DINNER.....I know a few of you would like to tour the house, hug a tree and we have a few inside the house, see my office and so on. So, I have arranged for a hillbilly band to come and play while we eat dinner at the house, open bar....of course. This will give everyone time to talk to the other attendees, network, share stories and whatever. Trading is sometimes a lonely business and this will give you the opportunity to meet others that share a common goal. But at 9:00pm YOU ARE OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!

SUNDAY June 1st
7:45am Breakfast is served at the Pancake Pantry starting a 7:45am, you can't come to Gatlinburg without enjoying some East Tennessee pancakes.......it's located at Pancake Pantry 628 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-4724 again any desk clerk can give you directions.....this will end at 8:45am so we can get to the house for the workshop......

9:30am......Defining a trend using indicators...not sure where we will leave off from yesterday but wherever it is this is where we will pickup on......this part of the workshop is to explore how to develop a trading plan, back test it, keep records or a log, and find out if it's just more noise or something of value. How many indicators do you need, which ones talk the talk and which ones don't walk the walk. By the time we are done with the second part of this you will be ready for the magic.

11:30am.....Market internals.....With 3 case studies in the manuals, two of them for an entire week we start to bring together the natural rhythm, the indicator and the internals. 8 conditions and what they mean and when it's just BSski or noise. Could you trade with just fib levels and the internals? Could you trade with just the internals......WOW!!!! We'll see, but the manual is jammed full of examples.

12:00...High Noon LUNCH...... Lunch will be from McAllister's Deli again ....I personally don't like to go to workshop and seminars and the food is something you can't spell or pronounce. So we will have fruit, and all the fixins to make a great sandwich....some potato salad or cole slaw, a nice garden salad and mixed fruit and a dessert for those who didn't eat salad.....ROTFL.........if you have any special needs please let us know so my daughters will be able to have it for you........

1:00pm......Market Internals......after a nice lunch and before you fall totally asleep we will finish up with the market internals. I know before anyone says anything that this should bring out at least a hundred thousand questions.......so part of this segment will be how to go thru your charts at home and what you need to do so you can it from across the room and under your desk.

3:00pm......Pulling it all together and defining what we are going to trade....Now that we have the natural order of the market under our belts, and have talked a defined way to look at trend, the pullback, the setup, the trigger, and how to manage the trade we will put a trading plan in writing.....

4:00pm .....The final answer time.....This will be where you can answer questions about, options, bonds, rice, banana puddin or whatever and if I know the answer I will tell ya, if I don't I will tell you that also. But maybe someone else knows the answer and that would be just great if they shared their ideas......

5:00pm.....YOU ARE OUT OF HERE BABY.....This will be around the time we will end for the day and dinner is on your own, hopefully you have made friends with some other guys or couples and will go out to dinner and enjoy the evening busting on each other.....most likely it will be about the workshop so far, but that's OK TOO!!!

MONDAY June 2nd
7:45am Breakfast is served at the Pancake Pantry starting a 7:45am, you can't come to Gatlinburg without enjoying some East Tennessee pancakes.......it's located at Pancake Pantry 628 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 865-436-4724 again any desk clerk can give you directions.....this will end at 8:45am so we can get to the house for the workshop......

9:00am to 9:30am Before I start trading for the day, three representatives from 3 local charities will be at the house, The ASPCA, The Boys and Girls Boys of Gatlinburg and the Good Shepard Clinic. I promised back aways to have a Trade-a-Long at the house once it was finished for my trading buddies, and I will fulfill that promise. As part of this workshop, there is no fee, no BSski to buy, no subscription to sign up for....nothing. But when you get something for nothing, what value does it have in the end......NONE. So, it will be between you and your soul as to what amount you give to these charities, it doesn't matter to me as I don't have to be there when you look into the mirror each morning.........now do I?

9:30am to 4:30pm TRADING BABY TRADING......I will be trading live, real money, most likely a 20 lot unless it turns into a trend day and then there are no limits. While in a trade, or when I see a setup coming, I will talk about it, talk thru it, not around it. There won't be any question or answer period until I say, "Anyone have a question NOW????? " People always want to come and sit next to me and watch me trade and this is your opportunity to do just that. But money is money and BSski is BSski and I take no prisoners....NONE.

4:30pm... the final answer...... I think by the time we are done for the day everyone will be spent, but I will have a follow up on questions about whatever. Hopefully as the day unfolds and I am walking around talking to myself most of the questions will be answered.....but you will have 30 minutes to an hour and then it's over, pack up the balloons and head to the airport as I get ready for the next event on Thursday...as United Way fund raiser for 800.........it's Oktoberfest in TENNNESSEEEeeeeeeeeeee.........

ANY QUESTION PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP

Also visit http://www.tradersparadise.blogspot.com for updates.

I have had several people say they can come, but then found out they couldn't while other said they would like to come but couldn't and now say they can.......SO, I can totally lost on the count.

Please, re-confirm that you are coming and we need you names, address and phone number OR you wouldn't get on the property. Again, most know about the trouble I have had in the past and we take security very personal here, so the bottom line is....IF YOU AIN"T ON THE LIST.....you ain't going to get past the gate house..........

Elvis has left the building this week

Well, I got a cold or maybe it is the flu, but I do konw one thing.....I got my money worth this time. For that reason, and the fact that Thrusday is Thanksgiving which means that Friday will be zip for trading. Wednesday could be but most likely won't be either. Which gives us Monday and Tuesday to make some lunch money this week, however, I would sooner sleep until 11:00am and then have a nice bowl of my wife's world famous Campbell Chicken Soup served with a big box of Ritz crackers and a pile of grilled cheeses.

So the jam session scheduled for Monday after the market will be moved one week until next Monday, this will give everyone time to write down a couple more questions....:) So I wouldn't be the chat room until the Monday after Thanksgiving, but if you need anything just email me........

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.......

The Super Universal Command WAR Room......

The new office is up and running with all new cabinets and counters. The cabinet doors are made from recycled barn boards clued together, planed and hand brushed. Then outside components were made from solid cherry boards. The entire wrap around desk tops are also made with cherry and recycled barn boards and inlaided with leather.

I do have a problem with my new assistant, i caught him the other day taking pictures of the office and the super new computer systems. The old office had 5 monitors and this new office now has 14 monitors all together being driven by 3 new yada yada yada computers that crank out millions of pieces of data points and find those low risk/highly profitable trades.

I'll be keeping an eye on this guy, because he might be up to something.....but Steve is just trying to learn the ropes and learn how to trade.....hummmmm!!!!

War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing
War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing
War is something that I despise
For it means destruction of innocent lives
For it means tears in thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go out to fight to give their lives

War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing

War
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction destruction, Who wants to die

War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War
What is it good for, Absolutely nothing

War has shattered many young men's dreams
Made them disabled bitter and meanLife is too precious to be fighting wars each day
War can't give life it can only take it away

War
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
Peace love and understanding
There must be some place for these things today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord there's gotta be a better way
That's better than.........War

Why do I do what I do........

Ever wonder why I do what I do, well I have seen it all or just about all of it I guess there isn't anything new out there. Just the stuff recycled into something else and packaged differently, just to see if you will fall for it. The Steve Maxtrix of the world are no different then the Ken Woods of the world...all making you believe they have the best snake oil for sale. But what got this started in the first place was emails and talking to people at workshops back in the 90's, here is one that came across my desk this week....

"You cannot imagine how grateful I am for the 3 Min Bar trade. I'm 65 years old and my Financial Manager, an old school "buy and hold"...."you can't time the market" kind of guy managed to invest almost my entire 3.2 million retirement portfolio in the NASDAQ. When it crashed in 2000, he insisted we ride it down. He promised, ...."it is going to turn around any day now and when it does we'll get the bounce back up if we stay in". I lost almost everything and I am having to start all over at my advanced age....starting at a place most people are at 23. Losing my retirement made me wish I had followed my first impulse and studied the markets upon my retirement at age 56, rather than following my life-long dream of getting an RV and traveling full time for a while.

But just as I was about to give up hope, I found your 3 Min Bar Method and I now I hope you will be kind enough to give me some help understanding the trading method you use after that trade."

The real assholes out there are the ones that have never actually traded for themselves but go thru a training program, get a license of some kind and then start to tell you how to invest. Back in the late 90's they looked real sharp to most as they told their clients to buy more.......then came that earnings report from LU and the book to bill as down to days instead of months, it was April of 2000 and YK2 was becoming a distance memory to most, a hyped up event and a total joke to others.
The major companies had paid the penalties on their contracts to purchase new equipment and canceled orders for YK2 equipment during the first quarter of 2000 that they didn't need now. The bubble popped that day, and anyone with a fricking brain knew it......YAHOO traded to 300 a share for air....the P/E was illegal in all 50 states but the District of Columbo doesn't count...RIGHT.

Instead of your financial manager and calling you and telling you TO GET THE HELL OUT AND INVEST IN BANANA PUDDIN.....they told you to buy more...buy the dip....so their firms would have some sucker to take it off their hands, and people did all the down to YHOO at 12 bucks......LU to 3.50 and so on.

YOU don't need those empty suits, you only need information to empower yourself...you don't need any market guru selling you their secret sauce you only need information to empower yourself.

Next week, most likely on Thursday after the market closes we will have a jam session for those who are in the chat room but not up to speed yet on how to take control of your own trading and empower yourself to be all you can be.....after 9:30am thats is......:)

I love you folks...I really do......

Yes, I love you folks when you send me a picture of your charts and in 8,000 words try to tell me where I have gone a stay......Last week, TonyUK of all people came into the chat room and spent the afternoon giving me advise on how stupid the first bar trade, tell us that all is forgiven and please come back to the Woodies CCI Club and on and on he went for about an hour. Thank you for invite, but I'm doing just fine where I am.

Now, I do take advise, because I don't know everything there is about market structure, I might know enough to get a few bucks out of the market, but beyond that I know there is always another way to skin the cat.....sorry Mittens. So I'm very much interested in other points of view.

Ok, that is until I get one of these charts....WHY, will I believe you have to use price to confirm any setup. The other day, Woodie was talking about price and that you don't need no stinking prices and he even went on to say that there has never been any books written on pricing with price.....I about died on the spot.

From laughing so hard that is, When you look at this chart my first question always is....how clear is the info displayed? Can you find something quickly without taking our a slide rule? Where is price based on this info that is presented? Could I find a trade setup from across the room or do I have to be an analyst and by the time I get the stones to take the trade...the move is 80% and ready for the retracement and stress me out.

But, please continue sending me the charts, and also please continue to trade them I can use the order flow. Seems a lot of people are getting better at trading that visit the chat room everyday....on managing a trade and holding on for a nice winner, having the stones to take a setup and also to pass on one, to know it's OK to be wrong as long as you are in control of events as they unfold in real time. Real time trading....hummmm......now that's something you won't see in too many places.

In fact, I would be more the glad to stand up in front of the world and trade against anyone that has the stones to trade against me....anytime ...any place. Not that I am better then anyone else, but I'm also not afraid to hang it out there for better or worse.......
