Insulation time in the hills.....

This is the first of nine truck loads of insulation being delivered.

R-13 to R-30 or insulation from 2x4 walls up to 12 inch for the attic....two bails per trip, so it took a while to get this project done...by buying it by the truck load we were able to cut a great deal...

R-19 will be used in the outside exterior walls which are all 2x6's.

This is the drywall for the first floor, excluding the green board that would be used in areas were they is water....like showers and laundry.

Each bail contains 4 packs of insulation, as we begin this process the contractor and electrician, plumber, heating and air guys are checking to make sure they have finished their punch list before we cover it all up.

This was the fun part, trying to explain in Tennessee English how to pack the insulation in between drain pipes, wires, cables, air ducts, you name it...we got it somewhere......

The first thing was to clean any saw dust or other dirt off all the blockers, pull nails, remove clue, staple the Tyvek tight...and so on.

We spent the first couple of hours watching and teaching them how to install it properly.....and then off into the wild blue yonder they went....

Making sure the each piece was cut to fit perfectly, stapled with the tabs overlaying the 2x6's and covering the top and bottom. We didn't pay staples by the box...we bought them by the case....and slap hammers by the hand fulls.....somehow we lost one at the end of the first day.

We haven't done the utility room on this floor, as you can see the ton of wires along with the media center with a mile of TV cable....The insulation is moving along as all walls will be covered......it's a noise level thingie...

It didn't dawn on me at the time, but what is wrong with this picture......they are installing the first two sheets of drywall.....the white background is ECO block and services as insulation....so it's not that.

How about standing on the top step on the ladder....well both guys are......were is the safety officer.....
