Long weekend in the mountains.....

It seemed to easy, hire a contractor, sit back and and watch a dream come true. Well, the reality is.....the word "living hell" comes to mind at time. As the days grew longer and the project started to drag out....I decided to hire more tradesmen to work a second shift. So they start at 7:30 and work until 4:00 in the afternoon and some work a little longer to complete a task. Then around 4:30 to 5:00 other groups of subs come on the project until 8:00 or 9:00pm. Which then causes more thinking and stress to have materials on site in advance...and so the world turns. This past weekend was a classic example as the amigos and there are 7 now along with 4 all amigo subcontractors worked Saturday, Sunday and even Monday.

The house in on a fast track now after bring in the additional help is a mild understatement but and "BUT" being the key word it's starting to cause a very short temper to come out. Excuses are for losers anyways and saying you're sorry doesn't help the process either. One guys, as an example, said two weeks ago or so that his step-father had died and took 3 days off. There wasn't any problem with that of course until last week when he said his step-father that actually raised him died and we have not seen him since.

The port-a-crap house has not been serviced this week as they come Tuesday night around 4:30am so there isn't any problem with equipment in the way or deliveries. With the extra people it is now overflowing with rice and beans....or what is left of the rice and beans....so today I screamed at the owner and told him to either service the !)%!#$*)!$!%~&* or get it the hell off my property before I bury it.

The concrete floor on the second level had to be fix because of the damage, so we poured a gypsum product to level it up like glass. ONLY, one problem, it has to be sealed before you can clue down any hardwood flooring on it. The sealer peels right back up because they poured the floor with to much water in it and there are no pours for the sealer to grap a hold of....so to speak. So we have come to halt there as the world of words fly. The subs thinks I should just put down a floating floor...because that would solve the problem. HELL, YES....the subs problem!!!!! If I wanted a floating floor, I would have bought a double wide.

The roofers....remember those clowns, managed to miss a tiny little spot above the chimney, so when we got hammered yesterday with a thunder storm it was nice to see it raining in the house.....not as much as outside...BUT!!!!

The list of things that can go wrong seems to grew each day......they painted the theater room with 8 coats of paint before getin-it-right.......8 FRICKIN COATS at 48 bucks a gallon.......

We have moved one wall three times now, so the plumbers, heating and air and electricians are all in code......wonder who wrote the code book......I would like to !#)$^!*#$^!)*$^!*#$)~@&^~_$^_* them.......

I am pushing hard to complete this by July 14th and that is in 2006.......each day brings me new ways to test me.....so furr, I am still smiling. I will be trading from the new house on June 12th and will again start talking about the mental game of this business
