Garage doors and a funny moment....

the wine room is coming together as the heating and air guys have moved out and sheet rockers have moved on to another floor. The electric is roughed in and ready for fixtures and trim pieces....things are looking up. These are panels that can be lifted to access the ceiling for utility problems.

Finally the garage doors showed up....doesn't look like much, but they had all of them on one truck.

It didn't take them all to install the hardware and begin setting doors......parts were laying around everywhere.....still don't know how they knew where everything went.

Always like a confused look on installers...where are the instructions again????

After two days, they had them installed and adjusted so they were tight against the wall and the opener worked didn't drive the doors into thru the concrete floors....

The first coat of paint was applied and it looks like about two more will be needed before we have the correct color.....and then trim out the windows.....but they run up nicely and fit great....

During the weekends my son and I play around up on the hill working on the odds stuff and keeping an eye on the big picture along with checking their work from the past week. So we decided to clean and touch up the rafters and purlongs in the great room.....

So there you are, up on 4 sets of scaffolding and standing on a step reaching as furr as you can.....thinking "WHAT THE XXXX am I doing?"

the goldens were watching to and no doubt thinking the same thing....what the heck is dad doing up there now....does he know he could fall?

As we finishing cleaning the rafters and pulongs, my loving son had pulled the scaffolding over the side so I could just lower myself onto the floor. Well after about 10 minutes of trying to fold the right way....he ran over and took this picture......DANG KIDS.

As soon as he took it, I dropped my head and said, "Why oh why?" and the little fellow took another one.....I finally just took a hold of the walk board and used my feet to find a step somewhere down on the scaffolding....I was thinking the whole time.....I hope this walkboard doesn't lift up and ....well don't want to think of what could happen after that........but TIMBURRRRRRRrrrr comes to mind.....ROTFL
