Roofers.....stay calm.....10....9....8....7....6....5.....4....
Sometimes we take a trade and after a certain period of time....like 5 minutes we all start to feel like it's turning into an investment instead of a daytrading scalp. The roofers are pushing the envelope everyday....as they show up at 10:00am work until 12, take a lunch break, come back around 1:15 and work to 3:30 and they leave for the day.
They are paid by the square, which is 100 square feet and also by each foot of things like ridge plates, drip edge and so on........SO it shouldn't matter it is taking them forever........it shouldn't being the key words there....BUT IT DOES!!!!
As they worked on the octagon in the front of the house......my blood pressure was like 420 over 30 just walking past them........so when they finished this octagon and presented a bill for the week's work, There problem was, since they were so slow we had paid them for almost everything that would have been due.......So we agrued back and forth for a while, and then gave them a check for $368.00.....the amount still owed......it's wasn't a nice good day for them to say the least.
While walking to their truck, one of them said, "We'll collect the balance some other way, we'll get ours......of course, that sent off alarms because of what happen last year. So we called our friendly little police department....talked to them and also called our attorneys.....who called them along with the friendly southern policemen.........
Meanwhile back inside the heating and air guys are running pipe everywhere for the 7 AC units in the house.....again we are still using rigid piping instead of the flex.
Each piece is built on the floor, lifted into place and then screwed together....wrapped in foil and taped.....
After each floor is completed, we inspected each joint to make sure it's done right before signing off.....so far we have not had any problems with these guys....in fact, they are so good we are now only spot checking.....
They are now in the attic running the final legs, two units will be in the attic to save space outside the west side of the house.......the one guy is from Mexico and he worked on Monday along with the 11 that work for us now......no one stay home to protest......we have gone from 4 last year to 11 now, plus 7 drywallers, 6 stone masons and 4 rednecks.......
So when you need to talk to the heating and air guys....you just need to look up and find some feet.....ROTFL....
