Plants...plants and more plants...

You just know you are in for a long day when you start off hauling plants by the bucket load....

The equipment operator (AKA, my son) was ready to dig holes all over the place, which everyone liked that idea since it didn't involve them using a shovel.

I called "One Call" so we had a better idea where things could be buried, since it cost $1,047.00 the last time. Now just dig down 22 inches......don't dig the whole mountain out....OK SON!!!

The goldens made sure they were in a safe place.......ok maybe a cool place but it looked they were laughing at something.....where are my KKD's again.....????

The first thing was to plant the biggest plants or trees and work your way down, also thinking about how fast they grow. 18 hemlocks, 12 sugar maple, 12 western cedars and so on........5 feet from the curb, 22 inches down, potting soil, plant food, and on and on it went......

As they planted trees we also where setting out the blooming plants and evergreens for over the retaining walls....

One of the funny things was when they forgot to cut the string they had wrapped the tree with.....someone didn't cut it before planting them and filling the dirt....so we had to....

use the bobcat and lift Tino up so he could cut the strings off, try to explain that to someone that doesn't speak but two words of Engish........No and KFC.

It didn't take long with 7 amigos and all the family working on this, now we are ready to set rocks around each tree and plant hostas...along with the grass.

By the end of the day, we had planted about half a truck load of brush, mulched it and gave it a good watering........
