Everytime you go up there on the scaffolding it's an adventure.....it shakes, it wiggles and it's just about toooooo high.

Tyvek had to be wrapped around the entire house, cut and pulled thru the rough open of the windows and stapled.......with or without scaffolding.

Because of installing the rafter tails next, the Tyvek had an additional 18 inches above the truss bottoms.

The tram runs from downtown up to Ober Ski Resort which can be seen from the decks.

I love it when they stand around and think about what to do next....or worst....how to fix what they already did.........:)

This is the next big problem....the octagon under the great room roof....you can see when they set the chimney assembly, there wasn't to much room left.

Each purlong had to be cut using a chain saw since there isn't anything big enough to cut all the angles. Yes, these rafters cost between 700 and 900 each without the staining and varishing.

The great room purlongs have a 30 degree pitch to them, add into this will be the rafters tails at a 22.5 degree pitch. The purlongs have to be cut perfectly because any wrong cut and they can't be replaced....PERIOD.

So they would take the cherry picker and go up and measure, come back down and talk, go back up and someone else would measure, come back down and talk and yada yada yada.......measure twice and cut once.......

Well after two weeks of talking, measuring and checking they had the rafter tails installed.....also all points come into the 46 foot tree which added another problem.

Once they installed the tails, then they were able to start running the tongue and groove up to the end after cutting the purlongs to the correct angles.....two weeks.....three guys.
