Chimney time in TENSSESSEeeeeee

I have these out of order, but still would like to share them with ya.....Before we moved the last of the roof trusses over in place, we built the upper part of the chimney assembly and moved it into place.

We used a 20 gauge steel 2x4's, and screwed them into place....

using clamps to hold them in place it took a full day to built this steel cage......anyone want to join me in a steel cage trading match.......I got the cage.....ROTFL

James is our crane operator and was waiting and waiting for a hand signal to cable out and boom down......yada yada yada.

After we sheeted it with OSB, it was time to move and set it.

Very carefully it started to lift up........carefully being the key word.

They used a rope in order to help to turn it and guild it into place....hang on Joe.

Once this 7 foot wide by 12 foot long and 16 foot high moved down close enough they able to start handlind it by hand.

Turning it as it moved lower........getting closer.

Until that magic moment.......The eagle has landed......now the fun part.

After the assembly was in place, they began putting in cross braces to finish the entire chimney system as it was designed......the whole move took about 15 minutes and the rest of the day playing with the braces.
