Never give up on a dream....NEVER....NEVER....NEVER.

It was the morning of August 3rd, 2005 and a year and a half worth of work laid in ash. I still remember the phone call we got in Mallorca at 3:14am (9:14pm local time) and the dis-belief.

The only thing that could be saved was the giant 46 foot white pine tree, the rest was placed in 14 dumpsters and hauled away to be buried. But the woodcravers worked on the tree for a week, grinding, bleaching, sanding or whatever they could think of to save the tree.

Last week, Dale came back with his 100 ton crane to set the tree back were she belongs.

It's hard to tell by pictures but the tree gleemed in the bright sunshine as she was lifted high above the house and moved into position. I actuallly got goose bumps as she slowly moved up and then over the ped.

Ever so slowly so not to hit any of the walls already up and standing.....James is ready to help out where ever he needs to.

Slowly it went past the fourth floor, then the third floor and finally down to the second floor where the ped was waiting for her.

Donnie used hand signals to James who then showed them to Dale as the tree continued to move lower.....cable up boom down....cable left.....

They placed a 2x4 so they could twist the tree to the exact spot it needed to be so the notch at the top would line up. Now you heard some one else giving instructions to Donnie so the tree would land perfectly.

Once she was in place, and twisted just right so the notch lined up, they started to blocking the tree. Now after the tree "is set" then 4 16' lag bolts will be screwed in from under the ped.

This is a nice close up of the tree and you can see the stressed look from the fire, but it's beautiful.

So within an hour, it was done. The tree had been re-set back to it's rightful place...as a center piece in what I hope will be an exciting home.

The tree has been thru hell but came out of it with character.....have you ever been thru hell and how did you come out of it. It looks weathered, but to see this tree standing tall, shining and ready to show the world that you ever give up on a dream.....no matter what!!! Back to trading tomorrow.
