The mental game of trading....some info from Miles!!

I really think psychology is that constant hurdle in a traders career and needs to be maintained on a regular basis. I found a web site (marketwise.com)awhile ago that offers this "maintenance" on a regular basis (look for the Mental Edge Newsletter). You can get on their email list for free and these short insightful articles will come to you several times a week helping you to stay focused. I find the articles very useful and thought I would share it with your readers.

Great Miles and thanks for sharing with us......:)

Is this your chart....and you wonder why "U" ain't make'n it

While running thru the emails of the past several weeks and looking for pics to post along with some yada yada on this blog I came upon a classic chart. This is a chart from Jimsy (YOU can click on the chart to see it better).....most don't remember Jimsy, because even though he was one of Woodies butt buddies......back then, he finally found the light.

It did turn out to be a light, of course, as he rode out of the tunnel of smoke and mirrors but it was really just a train coming the other way......and how we miss Jimsy and his BSski. Anyways, even this chart from Jimsy, doesn't have the CCI on it any more....interesting!!!!!

This is not the type of charts you can expect from the workshop, you know let's use 3 moving average and when the blue line is above the cyan line but the red line is below the price then blah blah blah......and we aren't going to use so ATR of the last x number of minutes to decide if the blue dots will after a small red dot is a long or short.......and if lots of ATR dotted range bars mean that it's time for lunch. NO NO I SAY!!......in fact, I would even like to show you how to trade without any indicator, now how wild would that be????

NO INDICATORS, say it ain't so Sport, but what do I watch then, MARIA?????
Price action and the internals......what is all you need, and since it's just that simple, that might explain why market gurus don't even talk about it. After all what would they have to sell then.

MOSTLY BSski mixed in a secret sauce

LARRY POTTY AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

In light of, Idaho Senator Larry Craig’s guilty plea after, a police complaint of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport bathroom, the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct is proposing the following legislation for men’s public bathrooms.

Do not stick your hand under the stall divider and say, “Gimme five.”

Do not brag that only people from Idaho know that there is no ‘e’ in the spelling of the word potato.

Do not say, “I’m out of the watercloset,”when leaving the bathroom.

Do not say, “business as usual,” if you are an elected official, and get caught.

No humming or whistling “Macho Man” by the Village People.

No footsies when sitting in the stalls.

No handsies when standing at the urinals.

Keep whatever is between you and your Calvins to yourself.

If you feel you must talk about something other than the weather talk about ESPN, not Oprah.

Handicapped stalls are for the physically challenged not the challenged who want to get physical.

Don’t EVER say, “Who left the toilet seat up?”

My daughter and summer camp.........

Ever since she was about 12, my daughter has been going to church camp in the summer for a week....swimming, eating, running, eating, playing ball, eating and of course quiet time and worship.......

Now she is in charge, good grief....poor kids and she is a mother hen if there ever was one. That is her on the left with the man who still has dreams of being her hubby...........having fun.

But this guy is a riot, one evening we went over to the camp and had dinner with the kids....this little fellow was sitting next to my daughter with those eyes.....and a smile as he looked at her.....so I started busting on him about if he would like to date her......

Afte a few minutes he looks at me and says, No sir, I haven't reach that stage in my life yet. I about died laughing.

Homey don't do no curve fittin........

In the trading business, those lovely market gurus love to curve fit their wares so it does look like the holy grail at first sight. You go,.....WOW, I'll be rich in 3 months only to throw in the WHAT WAS I THINKING BOX AGAIN. We have all done it haven't we?

Well, being different then everyone else.....means that I am not going to do that....PERIOD. BUT, in order to have charts to talk about during the educational live trading workshop, I need something.....RIGHT?????

So I am posting this in advance, that during the four day trading week from September 4th to the 7th, I will be building the charts needed for the educational live trading workshop. Now, no one knows, in advance, what the week will bring...volume, swings, range and so on. But, the ideas and rules that I use to trade with should hold up in any market and any time frame....

So we will be trading the 9m, 3m and 144t ER charts during the workshop. Now the question is...do I need to print out a full manual or just a power point you can have on a DVD of the different things we are going to go over......

Power Point costs ZIP
Manuals coust about 20 bucks a copy.......if you want color.
Email me and let me know....

This amazing picture has drawn a lot of comments from readers of the
Nashville paper, The Tennessean.
See Jay's letter below.

Dear Tennessean:
The Tennessean's April 5 photograph of young Christian Golczynski accepting the American flag from Marine Lt. Col. Ric Thompson is one of the most moving and emotion provoking images I have ever seen.

My wife and I attended funeral services for Christian's father, StaffSergeant Marcus Golczynski, on April 4, along with our six year-old son, dozens of Marines, and several hundred others who came to pay tribute to this fallen hero.

As one would expect, many of your readers were touched by this incredible picture. Staff Sergeant Golczynski had previously served one full tour in Iraq. Shortly before his death on March 27 he wrote to his family that he had volunteered to do this a second time due to our deep desire to finish the job we started. In his letter he said, "We fight and sometimes die so that our families don't have to." Tragically, Staff Sergeant Golczynski had only two weeks remaining on his second tour. We look at the photograph of Christian every day It is displayed prominently in our home. Our hearts ache for Christian and for all those who have lost loved ones in this controversial conflict.

Our nation is at a historical crossroads. Do we call an end to the struggle in Iraq or press on? Staff Sergeant Golczynski eloquently told his son how he felt about not giving up. Perhaps there is a lesson for all of us in this man's life and the choices he made. He was undeniably a man of tremendous courage and conviction. America must now choose whether to complete the job.

When looking at the face of Christian Golczynski I am reminded that doing what is right is not always easy and doing what is easy is not always right. Christian's dad knew that too.

IN GODS WE TRUST

IN GODS WE TRUST
We will have had either a Bush or Clinton in the White House for 20 years (1988 to 2008).There is a possibility Hillary Clinton will be elected in 2009 and serve two terms, a total of 28 years Bush/Clinton. In 2016 Jeb Bush, Chelsea Clinton, Jenna and Barbara Bush could run for President. Let’s keep the Kingdom (correction) Republic alive and extend this reign (correction) Presidency for 36 years.

Congress is even worse.

Senate
Robert Byrd, Virginia 1959
Ted Kennedy, Massachusetts 1962
Daniel Inouye, Hawaii 1963
Ted Stevens, Alaska 1968
Joe Biden, Delaware 1973
Pete Domenici, New Mexico 1973

House of Representatives
John Dingell ,Michigan 1955
John Conyers, Michigan 1965
Bill Young, Florida 1971
Charles Rangel, New York 1971
Don Young, Alaska 1973
Pete Stark, California 1973
Ralph Regula, Ohio 1973

Most people and things have a life or expiration and move on to other things.
Jay Silverheels the Zamboni driver, at the United Center in Chicago, where the Blackhawks play, knew he had enough with slush and retired after 11 years.

Barney Fife, deputy sheriff of Mayberry, threw in his badge after 8 years and became a roadie for the heavy metal band Judas Priest.

Bo Dega the infamous rat trapper for the City of New York knew it was time to fish not cut bait, after 9 years in the Bronx.

Sydney Biddle Barrows, the Mayflower Madam, quit after 6 years when she was still on top, so to speak.

Lhakpa Doma Salaka, a well known Sherpa hung up his crampons after 8 successful scalings of Mount Everest .When asked why he said, “Chikkyasin khyok pezi zendi kitup nowasing Britney Spears khurung larangtigokiwi”(roughly translated, if a man wants to marry Britney Spears he should ask her personally).

Pfizer the maker of Viagra has a rigid standard of only 4 hours.

Tim Horton is said to have regretted playing 24 years for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He would have preferred to lose his teeth to Honey Dip and Walnut Crunch donuts instead of hockey pucks.

David Beckham left Manchester United after 10 years and is now trying to bend it in the States.

The Pampers, Polident, prune juice set in Congress has got to give it up to the new way, of iPod, Blackberry and bling.

Does Senator Byrd really think he helps his state when people see him and the slogan “Virginia is for Lovers”, more like, the movie “Weekend at Bernie’s.”

Ted Kennedy has drunk wine from every vineyard in the world, why doesn’t he produce his own label. Come on Teddy, it’s time to sink or swim (sorry, poor choice of words).

Stevens & Young from Alaska are both under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes from VECO, an oil-field engineering company. If they do end up in Federal designer clothes, they may find out what earmarks really mean.

Senator Inouye might not be as good as the late Don Ho but he could probably sing a mean “Tiny Bubbles.”

Joe Biden’s got nothing else to do so he’s racking up frequent flyer miles and pretending he’s running for the Democratic Presidential nomination. At least he hasn’t plagiarized any speeches, yet!

Maybe it’s time for old Pete Domenici to take up ballooning in Albuquerque; the hot air shouldn’t be a factor.

Conyers and Dingell could do the circuit in Michigan retelling the juicy scandals. The ones about Wilbur Mills & Fanne Foxe, Wayne Hays & Elizabeth Ray, Gary Hart & Donna Rice or ‘Whatever happened to Jimmy Hoffa’?

It’s time Charlie Rangel followed his predecessor Adam Clayton Powell, Jr and retired to Bimini in the Bahamas.

The rest of them would be perfect candidates for some reality TV show like “Extreme Makeover” or “Dog the Bounty Hunter.”

The average life of a pig, which begets pork, is 10 years, a good start for term limits. When the Founding Fathers wrote, “We the people…” there was no de facto word ‘banana’, before Republic of the United States.

George Washington in his farewell of September 17, 1796 eliminating himself for a 3rd term, said “…every day the increasing weight of years admonishes me more and more that the shade of retirement is as necessary to me as it will be welcome. Satisfied that, if any circumstances have given peculiar value to my services, they were, temporary, I have the consolation to believe, that while choice and prudence invite me to quit the political scene, patriotism does not forbid it.”

Kids.......you do your best to raise them.....

Kids....you do your best to raise them right, you know......but then you find out that one of them has strayed and instead of wearing orange.....she wants to wear BLUE........and STILL DOES....dang it!!!!!

And with college football only days away, the heated conversions are already flying after the spanking that PSU gave UT last year in the Outback Bowl. GO JoePa......Did I say that outloud???????

Workshop in the Mountains of Tennesseeeeeeee

If you click on the title of this update...you will linked back to some of the details for the workshop. After 3 years, 294 truck load of 57 stone, 34 tractor-trailer loads of block for the retaining wall, 371 loads of concrete, 12,000 square feet of hand hued hardware flooring, a 46 foot tall tree, 5 20 foot truck loads of insulation, 31,000 feet of 12/3 wire, 10 red cedar trees being hauled in and skinned and set in place, 23,400 feet of rebar, 211 hours for a crane to move materials, 781 gallons of paint/varnish/stain, 16,800 square feet of stack stone, 4,300 square feet of tile and 83,470 man hours.....not including the 31 subs that have worked on the dream.....as of Thursday at 3:15 in the afternoon it has been finished.....lock...stock and barrel.

The 109 foot long bridge that some fool tried for months to say it was a bridge over to a city park is finished as is the patio area under the bridge is now complete with a swimming pool and bar-b-que area. The bridge alone took 43 truck loads of concrete and over 2 miles of rebar.

As promised, I will be having a trade-along here at the house, the end of September...where I plan to talk about several things, money management and trading size all the way to finding a tradable trend, a safe setup, defined risk, the trigger, and a few ways to manage the trade so you can reap a few bucks. This is an educational workshop......so the first thing you have to understand is don't believe anything I SAY......YES, I know........Like Mr. Krausz was always told me, go home and prove me wrong because this ain't no BSski. The same applies at this TAL.

Secondly, I don't need your money....so the workshop is FREEEEeeeeeeeee. But nothing is really free is it? There is the cost of coming and the time away from your family (maybe they want you to come so they have a few days off but). There is also the cost of believing that what I will show you is the holy grail. Something to take home and pound the living crap out of it from day one. This alone could cost you your entire account. That is why it's important that if you decide to come you need to do the following:

1. Leave whatever you have, or whatever you do to trade at home. Why come and compare your stuff with my stuff to see which one is better. Take a look at your house and then look at the top of this update and think. What do you want in life?
I doesn't matter to me, I have mine! I know that sound terrible and maybe it is, but that's life isn't it. The rich get richer and poor get poorer, there is a reason you know.

2. Park your ego at the airport, I have enough for both of us (ROTFL), the smarter you are, the more education you have, the higher on the corp ladder you were before you ended up in front of your screen daytradin the WORSE you will be at this. The market doesn't give a rats ass about you and your opinion, that's right...a rat's ass. I have seen doctors blow more money, because "they" knew where the markets were going...blah, blah, blah, blah.....BSski. NO ONE KNOWS where the markets are going...NO ONE PERIOD!!!!!!! You stack the odds in your favor, take the shot, manage based on a plan and hope for the best...some days you are the cat, some days the mouse and some days a piece of cheese, you just get ate up by everybody.

3. Come with an open mind, relax and network with people you share common goals with, this business is not about having this secret sauce holy grail indicator that will front run the world and works 80% of the time.....THAT IS BSski also......5 years after the Woodshed started in hotcomm those boys are no better off now then they were back in 2001 in Orlando. In fact, as I have pointed out to the "N" degree it's all about marketing, puppets, cash at the door and click thru....isn't it. So come with an open mind and journey into areas you have never thought of yet. Back in 2004/2005 I gave all of you the stuff.....well, about 75% of it....thinking that you would go home, do some research on your own, and figure out the missing pieces. ONLY ONE DID out of about 300 people that attended Orlando and Denver workshops those year.....only one. AND WHY YOU ASK.....because they came to find something, but only compare their stuff to mine.....they didn't go back home with 3 days of yada yada yada in their brains and then study it, they watched it for a few days and then started looking somewhere else, the next magical indicator and on and on they go....all the time I continued to build my dream.

What is your dream? Where do you want to be in 5 years? How will you get there? Why haven't you found it yet? This is a no holes barred trade a long and that means that I am not going to hold your hands and tell you how wonderful you are and hang to in there. I will be blunt.....in your face.....and make you think!!!!! If you are looking for some solid ideas and trust me, I have nothing to sell, no one to promote, ZIP.....but, if I talk about someone it's because I took their course and found this and that.....and this is something you should take some time and look into....PERIOD.

Ruth 3:13 talks about moving to the next level, it's an amazing story....are you at the right time and the right place.....are you ready to move into that next level......or are you satisfied picking up a few grains of wheat????

Real traders and the CCI........where are they now?

Mittens has registered for the workshop coming up the end of Sept, and is now doing her homework to prepare. Seems the thousands and thousands of emails that have come in telling me what traders would like to hear....well the CCI doesn't seem to be at the top of the list. All I thought was "DANG", those goes the latest research into the Hangin Chad setup that during it's testing it was found to have a winning ratio of 173%. OK, OK, just kidding again.......it was only 170%.

The interesting thing so far, is that people want to understand more about longer terms, stocks, options, timing for options, seasonal of stocks, ticks/tiki/prem relationships, position sizing, ramping it up at the right time, when to trade and why, when not to trade, what is the best setup, best trigger and how to manage the trade to have the best overall return and why and some even want to trade for the entire week.....
A week with me, WOW....now that would take some real stones. My view of the workshop is as always.....simple. I understand, because of having been there, having been run over, stomped on, spit out and chewed up the kinds of things that jam up a trader. I can only tell you how I was able to overcome that crap and move to higher ground, whether or not you can.....well a year from now you can look back and decide where you are.

We can talk about everything and anything.....but one thing is important, all principles of trading should work on all time frames and all markets. It's like your kids, they are all different, but at the same time they are all the same because of the principles that you give them, if that makes sense.

I can't show you how to trade stocks for the long haul like a month or an entire year because we will only be together eye ball to eye ball for a few days. But the ideas that works down on a 144 tick and the price action is the same for long term trading as it is for intra-day trading. The amount of risk involved might be great in the stocks, have you ever owned a stock and something happened just before earnings and it got cut in half.........

I owned the Finished Line, at one time, going into earnings, I had done my research and it was solid (watched my kids spend $350.00 one night), great layout, easy flow thru the store, informed salespeople and so on.......So the day before earnings were to come out I was going to sell the stock and take everyone to Outback for dessert.
Meanwhile, Nike came out and reduced their earnings, said they were closing plants, huge inventory of those 200 buck sneakers and talk about an ugly report......OF course, Nike got it's stock cut in half the next morning....and you guessed it, that was the day I was going to sell my Finished Line....and you guessed it again since 85% of Finished Line product was from WHO???????? We ate dinner at Taco Bell and split a taco.........

SO we will work on these problem areas during the workshop for sure....do I have all the answers, I don't think so. Can I give you comfort from having you tell me your war story.........I guess as long as it doesn't involve a hug or something.......

What is your inter worth.......

How flexible are you in your everyday life? When you are in a new city, do you worry about getting lost or do you just go your own way and assume that somehow and someway you'll eventually get back to your hotel? Do you get upset when you are told you are wrong, or do you welcome criticism or an opposing opinion? The ability to be open and flexible often makes the difference between winning and losing in the trading business.

Trading is a scary business. When your money is on the line, you naturally feel defensive. The more uncertain you are, the more rigid and defensive you become. It's a natural, biological response. When humans are threatened, it is often in their best interests to choose a specific course of action and stick with it. Imagine that you are changing lanes in rush hour traffic. If you commit to a lane change, it's essential to stick with your course of action. If you waver, you'll confuse other drivers and may end up causing an accident. When we are in potential danger, our mind focuses on executing a specific course of action; other alternatives are completely ignored. At times, this can be a good strategy when trading the markets. If you are executing a scalp trade, for example, you must commit to a specific course of action, get in and get out, and make a profit. It would do you little good to waver at a critical moment when you should take decisive action. That said, when it comes to longer term trading, it's vital to be open-minded and flexible.

When making long term trades, market conditions can change, and you may need to make midcourse corrections. You have to look at a trade from different angles and willingly explore every possibility. Many traders are stubborn, however. They have their money on the line, and they are afraid their trading strategy may not pan out. Unfortunately, their stubbornness restricts them from freely examining their options. Eventually, they end up losing money when they miss a critical market change.

How can you increase the odds of becoming flexible? First, don't imbue a trading plan with extreme psychological significance. A trade is just a trade. It reveals nothing about your intelligence, talent, or true inner-worth. It's merely a business transaction, so treat it as nothing more. Second, minimize risk. Again, when you feel that your well being is at risk, you feel threatened and defend your ego by acting inflexibly. If you limit the amount you risk on a trade, you will feel naturally relaxed, and thus, more open and flexible to possibilities. If you feel extreme stress, you might even want to close out a position and reevaluate it. If it is a longer term trade, you have the luxury of exiting and reevaluating your trading plan while feeling safe, and thus, relaxed. Third, you can ask a trusted friend or coach to play devil's advocate and help you see alternative perspectives.

Don't be afraid to admit that you may be wrong. The willingness to admit you are wrong gives you power and freedom. When you are willing to admit you are wrong, you won't be defensive, but you'll feel so free that you will trade creatively and profitably.

Man is it hot out........well it's so HOT that yesterday....

I love this picture....and yes it's hot out, in fact it's so hot out that farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs. Glad to see his fellow is having a good time....now if he can figure out how to hook up a garden hose.......look out....:)

Check you Living Will....before it's to late!!

Make sure your Living Will is not too Ambiguous!
Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her,

"I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine
and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.

FIRST BAR TRADE>>>>>>WOHOOAAA

So the Feds decide to play with the market...mostly the credit market but that's not important at this point.
The market (Russell2000) gaps up 24 (holy cow what is going on) points...... and you have to decide what to do.....you did a year long study of the first bar trade, you have worked to find some ways to manage it, you have worked on a sym trader for months and today you thought would be the day to go live........

Do I actually take the trade, do I fade it because you never saw this kind of a gap it has to fail....RIGHT??? Do you just sit there like you have in the past being an analyst or do you lean into it........

What is the difference between you and someone that makes money trading.....what is it, where can you find it, how can I be that person, when....when.....you keep thinking as the market triggers a long and works it way higher.......WHEN????

Well it wasn't today was it.....maybe tomorrow.....but only maybe, when you wake up tomorrow and look into the mirror while brushing your teeth....you'll think ....well maybe.......maybe TODAY!!!!!

TonyUK has fallen on hard time....real hard times

Just click on the picture above if you have a 12 inch monitor and check out TonyUK new website. Now you can understand all the banner ads over in the Land of the Wooden Pole.

Tony man, put down the bottle of red red wine and comb that hair dude.

Well I did ask if you had any ideas you wanted covered....

I did ask for what you wanted to hear and see at the upcoming "Educational" trading workshop on Sept 29th, and I got quite a few emails on the subject. One of the things people want a lot of is during the live "Educational" trading exercise I talk about what I think, feel and see as the market unfolds in front of us.

Also the actual trade management to get the most out of trade. When we run to the hills and get the heck out of Dodge, before the price action turns and hits the stop anyways.

The first bar trade with the third bar reversal, of course, but we will talk that to death in the 8 minute persentation on it during the Sunday session at this point.

Yes you can bring your pool stick, yes you can have the 35 cent tour of the house, no you can't use the hot tub in the back yard, yes you can walk across the bridge and no you can't climb any trees inside the house....PERIOD!!!!

I am developing more of the workshop, some would like ideas about stocks, options and cover calls.......and we can go over that is another 8 minute presentation....OK....maybe more like 10 but we will get there.....

I might but not sure yet, even give a couple days before the workshop to show you some toys or maybe after the workshop on a follow up thing on TradingRooms.com
Who knows....but we will have a good time and hopefully find that last nugget while walking around in the mountains of TENNEESSSSSsseeeeeeeeee.

Only thing free is WOODIES CCI CLUB!!!!!!

I normally don't pass on porn; however, I felt that you're mature enough to handle this one. If you just delete it, which of course is your privilege, then you will never know....will ya?

The Tucker Report and his days with Ken Wood at the Woodies CCI Club

There are others who are now coming out of the "woodwork" so to speak and speaking about their experiences in the Land of Wood. Check out this link:

http://tuckerreport.com/articles/magic-indicator/

Some things change and some things stay the same....nice to see the phrase you can't teach an old dog a new trick still apllies at the Woodies CCI Club and Ken Wood is still doing it to just help traders........oh yea!!!!

You know the new kids will get the treat...don't ya

So there was Boomer talking to Scooter and saying, "Now, you know the new kids is going to get that treat first don't ya." It's 95 outside, and a popsicle in the afternoon after you are done trading for the day is nice. Well, except for the fact I have to divide it now by five instead of 4. Max eats 24/7 and if he is eating then he is passed out somewhere sleeping....what a great life.

Kids do the funniest things ...don't they?

So there we are at lunch waitin for the big big bowl of banana puddin when the little one we look after takes my wife glasses and after 10 minutes of working them around get them behind her ears....and on her nose....:)

Then she leans over and takes her cell phone and calls her own mommy.....kids always finds ways to make you roll on the floor laughing ...don't they?

Check your email about the Trading Workshop.....

Ok, a test email went out asking what kind of things would "YOU" like to cover, no use me standing up there all day going "yada yada yada yada" and did you see that perfect ZLR there 20 minutes ago." So you should have an email asking for ideas to cover or things that you always wanted to know but where afraid to ask...in fear of getting booted out of a chat room.

This is your workshop, but I will trade live baby.......and if you didn't get an email this afternoon then send me a new one...ok......

Also this Educational Trading Workshop is Freeeeee...that's right Freeeeeeeeeeeee.
BUT, on Monday morning before we crank it up....there will be three representation of local charities looking for a check.......ASPCA, Boys & Girls Boys and the Good Shepard Clinic. You give the amount you feel will comfortable with....or uncomfortable.....but it will come back to you 10 fold....think about it!!!!!

Defense Attorney at work......BUT.....

If you ever testify in court, you might wish you could have been as sharp as this policeman He was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the policeman's credibility....

Q: "Officer -- did you see my client fleeing the scene?"

A: "No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away."

Q: "Officer -- who provided this description?"

A: "The officer who responded to the scene."

Q: "A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?"

A: "Yes, sir. With my life."

Q: "With your life? Let me ask you this then officer. Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?"

A: "Yes sir, we do!"

Q: "And do you have a locker in the room?"

A: "Yes sir, I do."

Q: "And do you have a lock on your locker?"

A: "Yes sir."

Q: "Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?"

A: "You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room."

The courtroom erupted in laughter, and a prompt recess was called. The officer on the stand has been nominated for this year's "Best Comeback" line -- and we think he'll win

Educational Workshop".

Also "The Educational Workshop" will be held on from:
Sept 28, 2007...a met and greet from 8:00pm to whenever at the Brewery which is walking distance from the hotels above.....
Sept 29, 2007...starting around 9:00am we will figure out the best way to actually defind money management for you.....that's right...the MARBLE GAME....and then how to apply it to your own style of trading. LUNCH around 12:00 to 1:00pm all the banana puddin you can eat...then we will talk about the real rhythm of the markets...and some ideas on which one is important. Which came first the chicken or the egg......right now I think you do have the chicken coming first. Around 5 or 6:00pm depending on the conversations.......We will be finished for the day.
Sept 30,2007...the first bar trade and all the little things that you were afraid to ask starting again around 9:00am. Since having a jam session the day before we can now talk about finding a tradable trend.....and how to take advantage of it. Most likely Lunch around 12:00 again. Then we are off to talk about the internals, how to use them to again your advantage, you have the perfect setup....but when do you take the trade......I can show you exactly, if you have the stones to do it.....
Then with an hour or so to go, we will put this all together with a few rules and some simple ideas of trade management and test it on Monday.
Oct 1st, 2007.......Starting at 9:00am Three people from three different charities will be there for breakfast so you can write them a check directly for your fee to see a real hot doggin cowboy daytrader take on the world. You will be able to sit in and watch me trade no holes barred.....real money, real time, with the plan we developed over the weekend.....Maybe we could trade one way before lunch and another way after lunch just to test some ideas..........If m arket conditions are right and no one really knows that in advance I wouldn't be trading a 2 lot....I will be hammering the hell our of the markets.

Around 5:00pm a hug and kiss and off you go back to the real world with some solid ideas of how to develop a trading plan for yourself. There will be some interesting ideas and some surprises...also...

Trading results......just the facts please.

We are always scanning the internet looking for the holy grail....just like you do at times. We do it for the humor but you might be doing it actually find the holy grail....
Take this site for instance, 50% winning ratio, and it started on January 1, 2003 with 5,000.00, now we check all we could and there is NO mention of that little word called commission....remember commissions....you pay when you win and you pay when you lose. Everything looks good up to the 15th and then they played that game.

You know.....like you tell you kids to count to 1,000 and then you will ready to go to the mall and they go...1...2...3...4...5...6...skip a few 997....998....999....1,000.

No mention of something we also call drawdown.......hummmmmm..
number of losers in a row.....hummmmmm.

AND NOW IT's FREE........but only when you take the "inexpensive" course....can you really afford it????? Think about it!!!!

Ever feel like you are alone?????

Your mind is blank, you're at the end of your rope, you have been trading this leading indicator forever it seems....yes, you have a good day only to be followed by a bad day. But the bad days give you pause and it's hard to get back in the saddle the next morning.

You have done everything but it just does not matter does it, you feel alone in a world of what you think are winners, but watch out for some facts.

1. If the PM's are turned off in hotcomm.com then the odds are the place is full of puppets. This is done to pump up the room and at the same time doesn't allow traders to talk to each others. Now, the room owner will always defend this practice by same, we don't allow solicitation. BUT, if that was the real reason, if the PM's were turned on, they would PM a puppet and be busted...think about it....PUPPETS!

2. The Woodies CCI Club likes to say, we don't call trades out, in real time because it's against the law. Fact is, "IF" they are doing to just help traders like they state and are not receiving compensation from vendors, then it's not illegal. There is a big difference between calling out trade setups in advance and about when you would enter, then telling you 10 minutes later...."Did YOU get that ZLR it was good for 4 points, is this helping anyone?"

3. While in a chat room, you see people post that they shorted the market at some number, which also was a few minutes ago, but can't explain in 25 words or less WHY.
"OH, I just knew it was going to fail there." Now, I do agree that if a trader took a trade and then a few minutes later posted it, that would or could be normal since they would have to enter the trade, adjust stops, set targets and so on.....MAYBE even update a trading log.....for goodness sakes. BUT, that person should be able to say, "Well, the so and so was a "X" and this indicator had just crossed this value and the price was at a floor pivot number.....now I like that setup." Well, then you could write down those ideas and after dinner and printing out some charts go and have a look see and so on.....

So don't let others get you down, don't let them make you believe you are just a loser because you think they are making it work and you are having problem....the truth might just be that they are retired and living off some fat pension and this is just a hobby and a way to pass the time. Or like Woodie, have your wife work as an executive for American Express while you collect disablities insurance. I have not her of her being at any Trade-A-Longs since December of 2003, guess she even figured it out.

ALways be careful when pickin a name for your kids......

Never fails, you fall in love and it's the best thing to ever happen......until it hits the paper.......ROTFL

New guard dog .....SECURITY ALERT!!!!

There is nothing more funny then a golden puppy and this kids is a riot, seems he likes to go outside (70 times a day) and then somehow falls into a flower bed only to come out with a pedal in his mouth.....after chasing the rest of the tribe around the house....it's nap time in TENNEESSSSSSSSeeEEEEEEeeeeee.

After a good chase..the cat...the other goldens....dust bunnies.....you name it, the kids works up a thrist.....the first couple of days, he wasn't even tall enough to do this.....now he is in there all the time....

What is your commitment to Day Trading anyways???

So there I was looking for my seat to enjoy a fast paced NASCAR race when this would be sitting in front of me......first I tossed my extra large box of popcorn and those 4 babe ruth bars in the trash, but soon I began to think......What level of commitment am I willing to step up to in life.....in trading....????

What would you be willing to do....how fur are you willing to go....how long will it take for you to find the right path.

That's right....Sing the Chorus:
Well, we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night
With a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Ok, let's get started without the Woodies CCI Club noise!!!

Let's see if we can't get a few things in order before you jump on an airplane and think you are going to find the holy grail and become super rich by Christmas.....

Are you making money now? I mean are you making the profits you believe you need to become what you view as successful? We all have different levels of success. Some just need 60k a year, others would need 100k and so on.....plus being able to save some for those golden years.....

Then the main question is this: If after "X" amount of time doing this, you have not reached your goal, but believe you are almost there....you are so close you can fell it, taste it, you only need one more little thing and you will have it.....
Then what do you expect from this workshop.......are you going to bring your stuff along....."that by the way, has not allowed you to reach your goal", watch your stuff against what I want to show you and compare. To see if, your stuff is better then my stuff....or your stuff would have made more money then my stuff and yada yada yada....and spent the time looking for faults?????

OR are you coming with a clear mind and want to understand and study my stuff to the Nth degree and then go back home and do a back test and then study it in real time to see if there is a nugget there for you to reach your goals?

If the answer is the first part....then please go to the Woodies CCI Club, Steve Matrix, Mark Cook and all the other gurus and keep you hobby alive and well pretending you are cool. But if the answer to the question is the second part, then at least you have a chance.......showing me how you would have made a killing in the market on Monday doesn't mean crap to me...and never will.....the only thing that means anything to me is .....where is my next opportunity to trade a safe low risk setup and management it the best I can ....RIGHT NOW.

There are still some slots left.....but 60 will be the limit for sure. Details will be emailed to you directly....and once the list of attendees is confirmed you will also receive that list so you can email them back and forth to see if you want to split a car rental....stay at the same hotel and network with each other.....this is also about finding people with the same interest, because this can be a lonely business at times......

Day trading the S&P and what to do first!!!!

The question that comes up the most is how do I do this.....how do I make money at this? What books should I read? What workshops should I attend? And yada yada yada.....

There are only a couple things you really need to know.
1. Have you or do you know anything about money management, size management or trade
management?
2. Do you keep a log and print out our charts at the end of the day and go over them?
3. If you do number 2, then what are you looking for and why?
4. When you get in the "right" trade do you for some reason end up either breaking
even or just a small gain and leave a lot of money on the table?
5. When you get in the "right" trade but it goes bad the second you are confirmed and
you get your head handed to you and don't know why? You can't figure out what you
missed.....well it ain't another fricking indicator.....
6. At the end of the day, you are mentally exhausted, ticked off and took X number
of trades and didn't make a dime...and wonder WHY me Lord, WHY ME?

Well, have I got good news for you, there is an answer and it's not using the Woodies CCI Club 28 setups, it's not buying another indicator or another piece of software and it sure ain't hanging out in 5 different chat rooms looking for someone to follow....

LEARN TO USE A FISHING POLE.....and let's go fishing!!!!!!
Details of Trade-A-Long this weekend......hang in there....everyone will receive an email that asked for details......

NEWS ALERT: Mittens walks out from the Woodies CCI Club

NEW ALERT: August 4th, 2007, Anthem,AZ:
Reports are flying that Mittens is the latest to abandon the Woodies CCI Club as she walked out without incident today. Tension ran high as she walked past the inner circle after a closed door meeting this morning about how to boost the attendees after Biggs confessed he didn't trade and has been faking it for years, Biggs wife couldn't be reached for comment.

Reports are also flying that the Mittens CCI trade will be renamed the Dr.Satish, not to be confused with Dr. Satish Namjoshi of Scottsdale AZ., or, Satish Singh, Graduate Student, Molecular and Cellular Biology, The University of Arizona who recently spoke about the Exchange of Proteins on Messenger RNA (Vidya) and Reaction Intermediates in CueO and Its Mechanism of Protection Against Copper Toxicity in E.Coli...that was E.Coli not the CCI. This lecture was hosted by Dr. Gio Bosco. Funny how this stuff just goes round and round...

Woodies CCI Club and are you trading wreckless...

The market is about to open, you are scoping it out, the latest news reports, the overnight markets, companies that reported earnings, newsletters, emails, posting in a chat room, listening to CNBC and Maria talk about what is going to happen and the list of crap just goes on and on.....

But there is a point in time, when you will push your little skateboard forward, think for a moment, take a deep breath then close your eyes and say a little prayer and then just do it.....no matter the risk.

Is that how you are trading, are you still the little boy on that skate board...only you know....and you do know.....don't YA? Being in a chat room following the cool-aide crowd isn't going to make you rich, trying to figure out the 29 different version of the CCI isn't going to make you rich either. I have yet to find anyone that trades just the CCI and has been successful. I do have a list of people who "did" trade the CCI and either don't or can't today. WHY, well it ain't because they are too rich to trade anymore.......so you figure it out.....you already know, but just haven't come to the point of believing it YET!!!! And the red balls just keep coming and coming....don't they??

Don't look now if you're a buyer.....it's your worst nightmare

The price action today was for sellers only....were you a buyer, looking to buy that bottom...there it is......ok, maybe not? This has to be the low right here, the so and so is oversold, the MACD has crossed and the CCI is at extreme and it's now forming a shampoo. DAMN IT, that wasn't the low either, why ain't this working?????
And the red balls just keep coming....and coming and coming......are you sick of it yet?????? They just keep coming....and coming......and soon you'll be gone.....

SIMPLE, you're monitor are either turned upside down OR you don't have a clue what the hell you're doing......NOW that should tick a few people off and no doubt if you were a buyer all day.....but don't blame the messenger, why blame me for something you already know.....just get on a plane and find out the truth about trading..........

I might have a few ideas for you to study that could help....but at least I am willing to stand up and trade those ideas LIVE with real money and show YA......
That is a lot more then you will ever get from the Woodies CCI club, Steve Matrix, Mark Cook, Camp, Houston or Bullwinkle himself.

It was a cold, dark, stormy night.

They were together in the house.
Just the two of them.
The storm had come quickly and each time the thunder boomed he watched her jump.
She looked across the room and admired his strong appearance...and wished that he would take her in his arms, comfort her and protect her from the storm.

She wanted that...more than anything .
Suddenly, with a pop, the power went out... She screamed.
He raced to the sofa where she was cowering.
He didn't hesitate to pull her into his arms.

He knew this was a forbidden union and expected her to pull back.
He was surprised when she didn't resist but instead clung to him.
The storm raged on...as did their growing passion. And there came a moment when each knew that they had to be together.
They knew it was wrong...
Their families would never understand.

So consumed were they in their passion that they heard no opening of doors...
just the faint click of a camera.....

Ever have one of those days..........

Well either this guy enjoyed the new Firehouse chili at Bert's Chili Range or he was trading like a one armed bandit today......short...long...short...long....oh the hell with it....I don't feel to good...

Have you ever had one of those days.....it seems in some of the chat rooms today, there was alot of people complaining about the markets.....well we got used to those wild swings.....easy up and easy down.....drop like a rock trading.

Today was a little 8 point range in the Russell2000, instead of those huge 20 point ranges......so we are back to where we were back a month ago, a slow market. Well that is fine, except if you thought you were going to clean up again...

how did you do today......
Details of the up coming workshop will be emailed to you by next weekend.....and there are about 20 seats left.......

Birthday Remembrance

This week we celebrate a special birthday.
Monica Lewinsky turned 31.
Can you believe it?

It seems like only yesterday she was crawlin around the White House on her hands and knees, and putting everything in her mouth.

They grow up so fast, don't they?

Which way to go.........

So there you are, it's been weeks, months or even years and you still ain't makin bacon. Your wife and kids stare at you, why does he sit and stare at that frickin computer all day, he ain't makin it.....OH, It's OK son...someday he will give up.

You get the right setup....you can papertrade like a pro, but turn it on to live trading and you fall on your face. There are days when you think you are a God and then the next day you find out you aren't. WHY?

You went to this website and that website and then thought you had found the best thing since peanut butter and leaned into it without doing a back study....it could be you didn't know how or you just believed you were to smart to have to do all that work. I mean, you were in the chat room and it seemed everyone was makin bacon all day long. But, where are they now, I guess they made 100 million scalping the SP and left you in the dust.

You brought all the books, attended the workshop they promoted, heck you even bought the video series and still you are banging your head on the desk.....WHY?

What are you missing, you even dropped down from the 10 minute chart to the 9 minute chart then to the 5 and then to the 3minute when you found out everyone was using the 2500 volume chart. So you started using the volume chart only to find out everyone was now using a 377 tick chart and you still ain't makin bacon....WHY?

You started out using the last pivot plus a tick or two, then you went to a 10 tick stop and then to an 8 because someone in the chat room said it worked and still you ain't makin bacon.....WHY?

Of course, I could go on forever on "WHY" you ain't makin bacon but maybe you should pack a bag and come on down to the NO BSski Trading Workshop. If you want to have your hand held and be told how great you are....stay home. If you want to come and tell everyone just how great your stuff is, well unless you fly here in a private jet then....stay home. If you think that you will need to buy something to take home, so you can be a great trader....stay home.

All you need is to have some ideas that deal with actual trading.....stops, trade management, setups, what to watch and which of the 23 indicators to delete off your charts so you can be what you want to be......you are at the cross roads, do you take the path less traveled or do you just folow the others...where 90% fail.

IT'S YOUR CHOICE!!!!!!

WOW.....surprising.....

The workshop is on....after receiving a ton of comments, which I am not going to post since they contain email addresses. Here are some details for now....

Cocktail party on the evening of Sept 28th....
Money management and developing a trading plan.....Sept 29th and 30th.
Live trading like you have never seen....October 1st.

Again, there is no cost for the workshop, BUT having said that.....a representative from three local charities will be present Monday morning so you can hand them a check for whatever amount you feel is right......

Knoxville is the closest airport....and you don't need to wear orange since the VOLS are not playing that weekend....:)
