WE made the winter issue of Travel Host

It was an interesting surprise when we got the winter issue of TravelHost magazine a couple weeks ago. Well, first it was tossed on the pile of other magazines we get every week and no doubt in another 4-5 years it would have been tossed out.

They had done a piece about a woodcraver that works in Cobby Nob, and printed some of his work. Low and behold, there is my "pineapple owl" and the mantle that will be going into the game room on the second floor.

We are planing to have a craftsman, cut out the outline of the state of Tennessee in copper, then stress it out using hammers. Once this is done it will be sit above the mantle and backlite with neon light....in orange of course. The mantle has a song sheet on it....and it says, "Rocky Top you will always be, home sweet home to me". The reason being that when you look out the windows into the mountains you see Mt. LeConte, which is Rocky Top.

The mantle is made from a sassafras tree, with the bark still on...of course when you seal and varish it...you guessed it...it comes with orange highlights.
