Anonymouse strikes again from the Woodies CCI Club....

Hi Dennis,
The sidewinder is one of those indicators that it works when it works, and doesn't when it doesn't.
You also can change the sensitivity of it to 60 or 75 on time frames under 30 minutes to help matters. You might get a better result.
The nuance I use is to take the first ZLR after a ZLC after a ghost or a vegas. And then take the 4th ZLR after that if the trend continues that long.
The other thing to check is that the 34ema is over 34 degrees.
Continue in the trade until the CCI dips back under the 100 line and prints the bar.
And do not forget. 1 chart, 1 time frame, 1 pattern. Pick your favorite and stick to it like glue.

Anonymouse, we believe was Cathy.....strikes again and thanks for explaining it first of all, but let's go over your response one sentence at a time.....OK.

The sidewinder is one of those indicators that it works when it works, and doesn't when it doesn't.
If it doesn't work honey...it doesn't work...OK. I find it very hard to find anywhere that it did work for over 2 months and I also find it hard to trade insight like ya'll do over there in the Woodshed.

You also can change the sensitivity of it to 60 or 75 on time frames under 30 minutes to help matters. You might get a better result.
Any indicator that you use or style should not be subject to curve fitting yesterday's market, in order to hope it works today. If you do that, then what hope is there really?

The nuance I use is to take the first ZLR after a ZLC after a ghost or a vegas. And then take the 4th ZLR after that if the trend continues that long.
Again, why use an indicator that require taking up charting space, if it only has some value if A + B + C + D + E + F = setup, why not just use price to confirm?

The other thing to check is that the 34ema is over 34 degrees.
Again, why check another thing to see if the thing we were checking first is saying it is OK to consider take a setup of the thing we want to trade......Price confirms it all sweetheart.

Continue in the trade until the CCI dips back under the 100 line and prints the bar.
You have not even said how you would actually enter the trade, oh I forgot, in hindie sight trading that is not required!!!

And do not forget. 1 chart, 1 time frame, 1 pattern. Pick your favorite and stick to it like glue.
If these are words to live by, then why are there always new ways of trading this one indicator? Why does the Woodstacker talk about the 29 minutes ZLR and hope you guys all got that one. That 5 minute vegas was a sure winner, hope you all got that one too. That inverted ghost was a classic setup on the 15 minute chart...what is up with this Cathy? I am confused yet again.

Traders helping traders strikes again.
ROTFL, will first of all sweetheart, you have said in other forums that you really have a hard time making money trading, isn't that RIGHT? So how can you even consider calling yourself a trader in the first place? At best, you are the keeper of the calendar and the defender of the gate....PERIOD.

wcci is a waste of time.
best to get out of there while you still have time and money left.
pros are picking them off in there on a regular basis.
dennis is right after 30+ years in this business price is key.
anyone telling you otherwise doesn't have a clue.

Cathy, I don't know if you can hear me in there with all of that Woodie Wax (tm) in your ears, but I clearly heard gb007 say that using the CCI (as a trade trigger) had improved his winning pct in the long-run by about 3%. For gb, that's a big deal because he thought his winning pct had topped out with what he was doing beforehand.

But do you get my drift? The part that isn't the 3% has nothing to do with the CCI. That's the part that has to do with why he had such a high winning pct to begin with.

Cathy, I'm sorry. You signed up for a boat cruise and you picked the wrong captain and the wrong boat.

Dennis,

I guess you did not like my first message to you. No matter. Maybe I was right. LOL.....

You are very naughty saying that I don't trade. It isn't true. Shame on you Dennis.

You might notice that I am telling you how to trade an indicator.....not how I actually trade.

I told you I trade 1 chart, 1 time frame, 1 pattern. And I told you that I don't trade ZLRs. And a Sidewinder is only good for ZLRs. Guess in your haste to bash all things Woodie, you missed that fact. Shame on you twice Dennis.

Honestly I am not going to share my trading secrets on your blog. You don't share your's. Maybe it is because you have none. You just trade and pray.

Cathy
