Pecky Cypress time .....give me a hammer!!!

Tempers flare as they talked about how was going up on the purlongs to start nailing down the pecky cypress.......

As one crew works on the gable end with the tree, another crew is getting ready to continue with getting the great room roof system finished.

This roof has a 10/12 pitch to it, so the word of the day is.......be careful.

Moving from one place to another is something that takes time, one wrong step and it's 24 feet to the main floor....and that can't be good.

We have two types of nail guns, ones that use air hoses and ones that use compressed gas so you don't have hoses all over the place, but it is also what each person likes to use. Once they got underway, it was two 8 inch boards then a 6 inch board and then two 8 inch boards and on and on it goes.....

The sun was perfect as it cast a halo around one of the guys, they now are placing 2x4 blocks across the roof.,.....actually nailing it above the purlongs....

You can start to see how great the pecky cypress is becoming as they moved across the roof......a golden yellow, with red highlights.....

So on and on it goes...two wide and one narrow......you can't see them but lines were snapped so they would stay straight as they moved across the roof. Each board is also place from the top to the bottom and the next row is then started at the bottom to the top...this also keeps you in line....and one side doesn't get ahead of the other......at least in theroy....
