Working on the gable ends....and working...and working

The plumber is lost, but at least he still has a warm cup of coffee as he looks for something......the A/C is coming along nicely as rigid pipe is starting to spread everywhere now.....

While the snow is on the roof and the roofers are MIA because of the weather....well this time I agree with them....the guys continue to trim out the corners with 2x12 western cedar.

Each 2x12 cedar plank has to have a drip edge routered on top so the water will run off the house instead of in it.

The gable end is a good place to work, at least on this side, the sun isn't in your eyes after 10am, the wind doesn't blow in you face all day.....and we forget you are up there working.......but now they are working on a bat and board siding...

It didn't take long for them to fit the boards and tight.....I had to have a couple moved at first until the understood what tight is.....and straight, which means I was out on the scafflolding with a level.

Next came two coats of sealer with a hint of redwood.....right after the first coat and within 30 minutes a second coat was applied. This will allow the boards not to get dark for at least 10-12 years down the road.

The top floor is now done......and sealed.....of yea the roofers are back after the snow melted, but it's only 3:00pm they will be leaving soon...

We had to skip an area of the octagon until the Tennessee Timber Works can delivery the roof system that fits on the main floor. but the works continues.

Anyone need any scaffolding, we will have a bunch of it for sale as soon as they finish working on the ends of the house.....just a thought!!!!
