It's plantin time......anyone have a shovel to spare???

As spring came it was time to start making the property look like something, so the first step was buying landscaping rocks for around the tress.........

I cut a deal with a wholesale nursery since I needed truck loads of plants......as they remove the concrete from around the place that was sprayed last year the first truck showed up.

These sugar maples are about as heavy as they get, so we used the bobcat to lower then down and move them around...

Then came the cedar trees, only a dozen of them......

As the smaller weeds were unloaded, we sorted them in groups and also counted them.......hehe..

Now that is a load to plants....but only the first one so four as it turned out. We had to tear up blueberry and blackberry bushes, about 100. So we will be replanting about 200. Same with the trees, planting at least twice what we had to remove...

Do you love to mulch?? If you said, "YES." Then try 14 truck loads of the damn stuff, we used the bobcat to move mulch around along with the tubs that the trees were planted in to get to those behind the ears spots.

One of the funniest things was when they started to deliver dirt.....and the back of the truck read, "Kent Woods Excavating." It wasn't funny when the bill came, because of the distance, each load cost $450.00 to have delivered up the mountain.
So, we are ready, rocks, dirt, mulch and a forest of plants and trees....anyone have a shovel........
