Just some pics of the house.....some before...some after

It was only a month ago, when I was on the hammer with the contractor and subs to keep pushing....working 6 days a week...some days 12 hours. By the middle of July we were 3 days behind our master schedule to be done by Dec. 11.

Then we get a phone call at 3:14am in Mallorca and everything is different now. Over 9 walk boards, 103 pieces of scaffolding and 211 cross braces, two air compressors, a mile of air hoses, electrical cords and a host of ladders are now just scrape iron.

But when I was going thru the pics, I saw this one. One day this puppy was sitting outside our door and we fell in love with him. So everyday, he would ride along up on the hill and play with our other two goldens and the pup that one of the subs has.
It was very very hot one afternoon and Boomer would walk over to one of the fans we had running to help dry the painted facial boards. It was so funny as he would lay down, back legs spread and right up against the fan.

About a week before we left for vacation these rafters were placed over the great room, the cost of these custom rafters came in at $38,000.00 each.

We had 4 of them over the great room, that did include all the posts, purlongs and braces. You can also see the top of the 46 foot tree that was installed during this time.

Since this is a fairly good size project, instead of renting a Bobcat, high lifts or cherry pickers I decided to just purchase them and once we finish the house turn around and sell them......SO I HAVE A NEW CHERRY PICKER FOR SALE......low hours.

Of course, the insurance agent jumped out of his office window last week, the good news is....the office was on the first floor......
