Windows trimmin time.........

A 2x6 western cedar had to be wrapped around the the windows.....and the key word is "AROUND" and between the curves......Each piece had to be cut, fit, re-cut, re-fitted until it fit perfectly......

After each piece was cut and ready to go into place, then still was more trimming that had to be done, to make sure the rain ran away from the windows and house they had to cut an 23 degree edge on it piece.......

As each piece was cut, stainless steel nails were used so there will not be any of those bad stains from regular nails.....and one of my jobs is to go around an play pickup because the cost of the nails....not that I am cheap....BUT.....

There were times when I thought.....nail one in....and throw two over the scaffolding, ROTFL. Once they worked to the top of the gable end they attached the bat and boards as they did on the ends.

It didn't take long for the gable end to come together. They also used a sealer to keep the water from getting behind the walls......

In theroy, this would be the last time we have the scaffolding setup this high on the front of the house, so the final coats of paint, varish, stain and sealers were applied before we started to remove scaffolding. Even the light fixtures were trimmed out and the blubs installed........SO COME ON DOWN.

It's finished, it's stained, it's painted, it's varnished, it's sealed.....and it looks great........

SO, I have a son....and he lives out on the edge just a little bit. OK, maybe way out on the edge but a great kid. All the kids have goals they need to reach in order to get the toys they want....like cell phone, TV in their room, out after 10pm,
and wheels. Once they reach those goals then they get to have rewards....so my son worked up on the hill at $8.00 an hour, studied and got the grades he needed, the school didn't call about something stupid and the police didn't call about something really stupid, home by 11, and had a smile on his face no matter what he had to do......and believe you me, I really tested him on that one....ROTFL.
He wanted a pickup truck, a Toyota and we found a very clean used one and he bought new wheels and rims before it was in the driveway......and now it looks so cool.....

Like I said, a great kid helping out doing the little things like making sure the fire blocking is nailed in......a clean cut kid......he even shaves....well once every other third week.....but he shaves....what a great young man.

Did I mention he lives out on the edge a once in a while........Ok, anytime he can find a mud hole somewhere or something to jump over.......what a great kid...
