Visa is really starting to charge it up..... :)

Back last week I mentioned a stock take you could check out, VISA symbol: "V".
Well today after the close the October 75 Put was up to $7.40 from the $5.00 range last week for about a 48% gain in less then a week, now that ain't to bad....is it?

Anyways I have posted the target that we should get to here every soon......the 1.272and the big one down there at 1.618. So maybe this will be 100% gainer....now would take be nice.....????

Portfilio Update 09-05-08

Disney got taken out when it traded below $31.00 on Friday.....:(
Now, of course, how you manage the trade after the entry I think is more important the pick or the entry itself. Take today as Disney is up over 3 bucks and we were looking for a target of $43.34 but that is trading.

So let's see how the picks on August 21, 2008 did. Of the 44 stocks that came up on the hot sheet we only got a base system setup....
1. FFBC: Hit the first target and got stopped out for an overall 49 cent profit.
2. SGEN: Never trigger under the rules....... :)
3. TJX: Hit the first target of 85 cents, then got stopped out at BE on entire trade.
4. ISYS: Hit the first target of 85 cents, nailed for a $1.57 loss.
5. DXPE: Hit the first target of 85 cents, hit the second target for a $4.90 profit.
6. DIS: Hit the first target of 85 cents, then got stopped out at BE on entire trade.

SO out of 6 trades, and if we consider that say 100 shares were bought for each and a first target of 85 cents then we had a overall profit of.....
1. 49 cents on FFBC on the 100 shares.
2. nothing
3. nothing
4. $1.57 loss on ISYS on the 100 shares.
5. $2.87 on DXPE on the 100 shares.
5. nothing

So 49 cents and $2.87 minus $1.57 equals about $1.79. Not bad if you consider looking at the daily Dow30 chart and see that while we were long the market had a bad attitude about everything, what if the Dow30 and the S&P500 were in an up trending market......what if.

Portfilio Update 09-04-08

This update ain't going to be good.....
3. TJX: The stop on the trade was $35.09 and we certainly hit that today....so this trade #3 was an overall breakeven...

6. DIS: Our overall breakeven stop is $31.00 and today I thought we would hit that sucker and take me out....but we are still alive...

PORTFILIO UPDATE #2
I put two stocks on the hot sheet yesterday, VRX and SGEN. Well neither one of these puppy triggered today and SGEN is now officially off the hot sheet.....along with VRX and I'll show ya why at the educational workshop. I will also be asking the attendees for the picks and we will run thru them and test the base system.... :)

Now to me, looking at your huge winner isn't going to help much, unless you think you were the luckiest person in the world. What wil help is looking at the loser, so don't just bring the stocks pick along, but bring the dates and we will look and see if the base system would have been able to say...."MAN, what are you thinking??"

Visa on the rope......

Well today was not a great day for longs to say the least.....
So I worked up a short that could take advantage of the current market conditions, I personally don't like to short stocks. But let's see what happens....

Over the past two days Visa has broken out of a consolidation, given back those gains immediately, and then broken lower on increasing volume. This is a typical sign that institutions are bailing out and with the overall market finding little reason to rally, this stock could make a bee line towards its IPO price.

The Play: In the next 48 hours, short Visa Inc. (V:NYSE) at $70 or better (higher is better). Be sure to use a limit and do not sell for less than $70.

Option Alternative: If you prefer options over shares you could buy the V October 75 Puts (V VO) which are trading around $5.00 as of this update

Our initial buy-stop to limit position risk will be at $85. We will set $58 as our target spot to take profits on half of the position.

Now of course, this is for educational purpose only and consult your barber, wife and the cat...and maybe even your broker if you feel the desire to just throw money to the wind........

Portfilio Update 09-03-08 part2

After 27 years of research I have found two more stocks I will put on my hot sheet for tomorrow. VRX and yes.....SGEN again, sometimes a stock just won't go away....:)

For those who have been here and had to go, well you know that I have urinals in almost every bathroom, as I believe we have equal rights. Why do we have to sit when we don't have to? If fact, I don't have to worry anymore about letting the lid up and getting yelled at by 3 women..... :)

You always might know that I design and build custom homes and always on the look out for stuff that might just be over the top....so to speak. But I'm not sure if I could walk into the bathroom and belly up to the,......flower.

Portfilio Update 09-03-08

The market today was mixed at best with the Dow30, Nasdaq100, and the S&P500 finishing down slightly while the Russell was trying to stay above water. Transports were down more the Dow30, so to me it was a yawner....:)
But how did the profilio do, because we had some stocks that were in trouble so let's see:

3. TJX: With the stop at $35.09 we are still in the game on this one, but it's getting close to a BE overall trade....

4. ISYS: With the stop just under the $43.05 pivot today we got nailed on this one, an 85 cent profit on the first half has turned into a $2.57 loss on the second half for a net of loss of $1.57. So I guess I am just like the rest of the world....I cry too.....

6. DIS: Well today this stock traded down but the low was $31.97 we are still hanging on tough with a $31.00 stop.

Could we have a nice rally tommorrow and give me some help here.....as we are down to just 2 stocks now......of the 6 stocks picked a week ago or so we had one that didn't trigger and one that was a bust, and two winners.....FFBC and DXPE which was the best one....today it had an outside bar and closed below yesterday's low....

Having issues with the "Will of God"

So there I was sitting trying to stay awake when the pastor said, "You have a free will, you can chose what to do with that will, you can follow Jesus or you can turn away, the choose is yours." Well that was like four weeks ago and I am still thinking about this.

IF, it's Gods will, the will of God, rejoice and be glad for this is Gods will, surrender your will to God, abide by Gods Will, according to Gods will and the list is almost endless of saying it appears. I have spend endless hours reading up on this and still have not found the answer.

If I have a free will, to do good for others or to ignore the teaching of Jesus from the bible and do whatever is one thing. But how do you know you are doing the will of God. God only spoke a couple of times in the bible to someone, it wasn't like he sat down with Moses and wrote like 20 chapters of the bible on his thoughts about his "WILL"....ok he wrote 10 lines give or take....right???? Now those 10 lines were pretty good.....but what is this "WILL THING."

I am not even sure what the questions should be must less any answers, but it's something that is driving me nuts......The will of God and a free will. You see if I have a free will, and someday drop over dead, then I will have to go before God and answer from "The Book" for everything I have done. All those free will things that I did either right or wrong, but he will judge me.

But how will he judge a person that did the best he could, but it wasn't his will, now this could be a problem.....I think. Any ideas would be good.....post them please.
So I can get some sleep.

Well it's only a month away, Oktoberfest and a good ole fashion stock trading eductional workshop in the mountains and things are happenin. If you want to come to workshop and see how I use Blau ideas to develop a stock trading plan like I have been showing here for the past few days, then let me know ASAP.

Just kidding, but this workshop will have some ideas for you on money management as I always play the marble game, trade sizing, profit targets both first and second targets, stop placement to allow the trade to have some room to rumble but also protecting yourself at the same time.

We will take a look at three market gurus and their picks, how to filter out the bad ones right off the bat, but also how to let them come to us so to speak. POT was a pick in Group3, but at the workshop I will show you why this one was a dog from the start along with several others.....

But these ideas can also be used to trade stock index futures, forex, and even corn, the ideas are not mine, but WW Blau and have stood the test of time. You wouldn't have to change your time frame, you wouldn't have to go to range bars, you wouldn't have to even take prices off your charts, and most important you won't even have to delete your own secret sauce........it should be fun.

SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Portfilio Update 09-01-08

A Huge gap on the open this morning and within half an hour it started to get ugly out there. By the close it was really ugly, so ugly that the portfilio might have taken a beatin today.....let's see.

1. FFBC: BANG stopped out a $12.46 for a loss of 36 cents on the second half, so 85 minus 36 would give us a net overall profit of 49 cents.....GOOD!!!!

2. SGEN: Didnot trigger and is off the list......will show you why at the workshop just remind me..... :(

3. TJX: Well here we had also gotten the first half off, and adjusted our stop to $34.90 which today didn't get hit as we had an inside bar on the dailies. The next day or two will tell on this one. With an entry at $35.89 we are going to move the stop up to $35.09 so the worst case is a BE trade.

4. ISYS: Well the entry was $45.60 and we are at $44.00 after taking the first half off. Today the low was a hair above the pivot low we are worried about, so this one might not have been the best pick..... :)

5. DXPE: Now if they all were like this one, order me another dessert, in a down drafting market like today, DXPE just keeps on going.....higher and higher, however, after saying this...you know that we hit our target on Friday, but man what a nice trade.

6. DIS: Well Disney did OK today, it held Friday's low, but it couldn't break above that pivot and now is sitting on a double daily top. This means we need to take some action and with an entry at $31.79, we will throw in the towel at $31.00 and have another breakeven trade......

So the 6 stocks are down to 4 and one is hurting......stay tuned!!!!

The only thing that has changed is the names because once you are there for any length of time and have any kinda brain, you can right thru it.
Richard_AZ does have a point, if you are a moderator and don't trade using the "system", then you are as much a part of this as Ken Wood is. Giving people hope that they can being a good trader when all the while, it's just smoke and mirrors.
I do hear that just maybe PFG has began to see the light, is that why, the next Trade-a-Long or Workshop...whatever you call it doesn't have PFG blasted all over it. Just maybe PFG has looked in the mirror and doesn't like what they saw.....

Portfilio Update 08-31-08

Nothing like a good downdraft in the overall market when you have several trades on the bullish side, is there?

1. FFBC: The first profit target was hit at $13.65 and having it close at $13.01 we are still on the plus side with an entry of $12.82. I would like to hang tough to $14.75 on this one and have moved the stop up just under the pivot at $12.46.

2. SGEN: Will if this doesn't trigger by Wednesday, then it will come off the hot sheet and be replaced by something else.

3. TJX: With an entry at $35.89 and it rolled all the way up to $37.20 on Thursday afternoon we were able to get the 85 cent first target. The problem during the down market on Friday, TJX stopped right at the .786 of the last swing. With a stop at $34.90 we can only pray that the hurricane misses most of the oil rigs in the gulf over the next day or so..... The profit target on the second half is $39.02.

4. ISYS: Hit it's first target for 85 cents, right after that on Friday it is now trying it's best to take out the pivot at $43.05. If it does that we would be taking a $2.55 hit on the second half.....so under the desk we go ....uhmmmmmmm. $57.53 is our goal for the second half.

5. DXPE: If you take the swing from $37.45 to the last pivot at $54.56 and do your fib work you would find that the target for this trade would be the 1.272 at $59.22. On Friday, as the rest of the market was heading for the toilet bowl, DXPE was moving higher. There is a good chance that this stock could rumble all the way up to $65.14 but without me. 85 cents on the first half and about $4.90 on the second half is good enough for me......A WINNER..... :)

6. DIS: It triggered and we got that first 85 cents, no problem but by a hair, right now the chart pattern is showing that the high on Thursday and also on Firday is right at the .786. The good news is that on a down draft day, DIS held her own, if we can pop above the last pivot we will be on our way to $34.43. Otherwise, we will have to throw the towel in at $31.20.

Most likely SGEN will be dropping off the hot list on Tuesday and with DXPE hitting it's target, we only have FFBC, TJX, ISYS and DIS left in the portfolio, maybe time to go dumpster diving again and see what we can find... :)

Portifilio UPDATE.........

Well, it's 1:30pm ET and today we have had more activity then we have had the past two weeks.
1. FFBC is up to $13.14 and rolling since we were looking for $13.65 to take half off and book a profit....I like a profit... :)

2. SGEN has gotten to $11.20 but we are still flat, no base system trigger yet.
3. TJX has triggerd at $35.89 and is now rolling at $36.41.
4. ISYS has triggered at $45.60 and is now rolling at $46.35, it did hit a $45.65 and that was good enoug to hit that first target....:)
5. DXPE has triggered at $54.23 and is now rolling at $56.40, so have our first target at $55.08 and looking good....:)
6. DIS has triggered at $31.79 and is now rolling at $32.53, it has traded to $32.67 and we were looking for our first target at $32.64 or 85 cents, and this means we have taken half off and booked some.

So today, we have so far been able to trigger our longs from last night update and hit the first target on 4 out of 5 stocks. TJX and FFBC are rolling, so who knows by the end of the day.... :)

Portfilio Update 08-27-08

Well, we have a one stock portfilio so far, which I am sure that everyone thinks by now I should have 10 to 15 stocks in the portfilio. Well, FFBC is now up a whooping 20 cents from the entry of $12.80. Now it did announce today that it will pay a 17cent dividend and we all like a dividend.

SGEN, has not triggered yet, if it can get it's backend up to $11.20 maybe we can find a base system buy trigger after waiting more then a week.

TJX, if it can trade above $35.89 tomorrow we will be adding this to the portfilio.
ISYS, if it can trade above $45.60 tomorrow...same thing.
DXPE, is it can trade above $54,23 tomorrow...ditto.
DIS, if it can trade above $31.79, this won't be a Mickey Mouse trade....:)

So it's time to build a portfilio for the workshop....where I will show you how to find the stocks of interest, how to setup a base system trade with solid rules and then how to get on board. You can even use this style if you have a day job....no need to sit at the screen and stare..........

Well dang it anyways.......

I have given the list of several stocks that I will be using for the up coming workshop from three different sources and have posted it. Well, today was not a good one for the whole list....now some didn't have the base system setup that I will be talking about and showing just how with some simple rules that anyone can make a few bucks. But the whole list took it on the chin today.

Which brings us to the trade management ideas for the workshop, we will be using several different styles of managing the trade. Each with rules, so no smoke and mirrors for this kid. I personally like to take some off at the certain point, and it doesn't matter if it's in the index futures, stocks, options or even corn. But we will look at each of them, case by case.

The educational workshop is about half full at this point, and if you want to come, well it's freeeeeeeeeee, first of all. In fact, I'll even print out the manual, feed ya lunch and so on. All you are required to do is bring an open mind, park the ego, and make a donation directly to one of three local charities or all three if you like, in the amount that you feel, in your heart, is the proper amount.

Portfilio update.....

WE are currently building a stock portfilio for the examples during the next educational workshop coming up the first weekend in October. I had picked two stocks up until Friday and they are...SGEN and FFBC.

In our base system that I will be showing at the workshop, FFBC went long at $12.80 around 12:20 ET on Friday. We will be looking to pull 85 cents from this stock, then sell half and put a breakeven stop at our entry. So time will tell, this should take a couple days...... :(

With only 5 weeks before the workshop, I believe I need to step up the stock selection we will be taking a look at during the next educational workshop. So here is the list, and the first question should be....WELL, were did this list come from...outer space, your barber? Well, no I will be doing a research project from three sources, each have a good track record for picking stocks to buy. This research project will only be looking to purchase stocks and not to short them.

Going over their list, first thing I notice is GOOG, now GOOG might be a great stock but the darn thing is trading in the 500 bucks a share range. So if you have a 20k account you are screwed. The reason is, only a pure fool would take his 20k and buy just one stock, that is formula for disaster or a candiate for the RED BALL. And if he did, that would be about 40 shares and the cost of commissions would be high on a per share basis.

The second group has cheap stocks, under 10 bucks, so you could buy 100 or 200 shares and spread the joy around.

The third group is all over the place which is good...in a way.

Anyways, here is the list of stocks that we can now go to our base system and see if we can start to buy a couple of them this week......stay tuned.

Yesterday, I posted SGEN, with an entry area that we have not been able to trade down to, so we are not long this one on a trigger from the Base System.

The daily volume is around the 150 to 175k area so as with yesterday idea....you can't buy 500,000 shares and get in or back out gracefully. But that doesn't mean we can't use some basic money management skills and buy these stocks and build a balanced portfolio to swing trade or long term based on your goals.

I even see that IDC, or as we know it as eSignal is about to come up on my radar screen, maybe Monday.......funny stuff. This workshop should be fun as we explore other areas of trading along with the day stuff....

Seattle Genetics is the first pick of this experiment

With the symbol of SGEN, Seattle Genetics will be the first stock pick for the up coming workshop. Today it traded at $11.73 and if it can trade down to the $11.00 to $11.25 area we will look for a "Base System" buy trigger.

Seattle Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq:SGEN) announced on July 31, 2008 that it has initiated a phase I clinical trial of SGN-70, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD70 that is being developed as an investigational therapy for autoimmune diseases. The trial will assess the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of SGN-70 in healthy volunteers. CD70 is also expressed on several types of cancer, including multiple myeloma, lymphoma, renal cell cancer, glioblastoma and several other solid tumors. In addition to SGN-70, Seattle Genetics is advancing SGN-75, an antibody-drug conjugate targeting CD70, for the treatment of cancer and expects to file an investigational new drug (IND) application in 2009.

Now of course, only a fool would just buy this because you read something on the internet or in a blog about it. But follow along over the next several weeks as we move toward the workshop. I want to make sure that you know that these picks are not in hindsight...cherry pickin...crapola. At this workshop, I will show how I find these picks, how I determine which ones could be used for a trade, how I setup the trade and then how I trigger into the trade....also what am I looking for in profits......

This workshop is for anyone that wants to understand how to trade without depending upon your barber, the paperboy, mother-in-law or for heaven sake......MARIA.....:)

The next workshop and what to expect!!!!

The next Educational Workshop that is coming up will have a new agenda, after doing the same thing over and over even I am bored, so have you ever wanted to swing trade stocks? If the answer if yes, then maybe I have a couple of ideas for you.

What I will be doing over the next couple of weeks, is first post a couple of stocks that I will be using at the educational workshop, so that those of you who don't like a cherry picker hindsighted chicken eatin redneck to say....after the whole thing is finish....yea yea you should have gotten that one..... :)

I will post the stock the day that I do something with it, then at the workshop I will go into details of how I picked that stock in the first place, how I would use what we have come to know as the "BASE" system to find a low risk setup and finally how I entered and managed the trade.

So don't be a fool like Mittens here and when I say this is a stock to just say a prayer and punch the order entry key.....we don't need no fools... OKKKKKKKK. But you can follow along and see if you are currently a follower and have the "BASE" system...... :)
